The active ingredients in the dried leaves of the sea almond tree (Terminalia catappa) have a mild disinfectant and antibacterial effect. In Asia, the leaves have long been used in aquaria and for transporting stress-sensitive aquarium inhabitants.
The leaves are used against
- Fungus
- Bacterial diseases
- ectoparasites
- Bite wounds and injuries
The pH value is lowered very slightly, the water is not clouded. They are absolutely harmless for invertebrates and are considered a tasty change on the menu. In fish, they promote the healing of inflammation and fin rot and prevent spawning fungus.
Dosage:
Add 2-3 leaves to 50 liters of aquarium water in the tank. The leaves soak up the water over the course of 24 - 48 hours and then sink to the bottom, where they slowly release their contents into the water over the next 2 - 3 weeks. The leaves can then be replaced, but there is no harm in leaving them in the tank for longer. The leaves are readily accepted by the animals as a food supplement and as a hiding place
We only offer "organic sea almond tree leaves". The sea almond tree leaves are free from pesticides and other chem. They are absolutely clean and pre-washed.Our leaves come from a remote region in India and are collected there privately by a young family (also for their own use).
