Monosolenium tenerum
Monosolenium tenerum is a beautiful liverwort from Asia that only grows 2-5 cm tall and is supplied as a 100% sterile laboratory aquarium plant in sealing cups. It can best be described as a giant Riccia, except that it stays at the bottom and forms cushions there. This delicate plant falls apart easily and needs careful handling.
Introducing Monosolenium tenerum into the aquarium is best done by attaching it to rocks with nylon string or spreading it in small clumps amongst other plants, such as Eleocharis. Once acclimatized, this liverwort has very low requirements and thrives without much maintenance. It is also known by the erroneous name Pellia.
