Rotala rotundifolia
The Latin name Rotala rotundifolia means "round-leaved plant". However, this only applies to the marsh form, which has circular leaves. Rotala rotundifolia from Southeast Asia has long, thin leaves (2-3 cm wide) and 15-30 cm long stems. In the aquarium, Rotala rotundifolia forms elongated, thin leaves.
In contrast to other Rotala species, it is relatively undemanding, although it needs a lot of light to form red leaves. This plant develops side shoots very readily and thus a dense, bushy shape. This makes it difficult for light to reach the lower leaves and the plant needs to be pruned frequently. Rotala rotundifolia is also known as Rotala indica.
At Rendo Shrimp you will find this easy-care and attractive aquarium plant of the highest quality, ideal for adding a lively and colorful atmosphere to your aquarium.
