Micranthemum callitrichoides 'Cuba'
Micranthemum callitrichoides 'Cuba' is one of the smallest aquarium plants in the world, known for its tiny, millimeter-sized, round leaves. This attractive plant grows creeping over the substrate and quickly forms a dense, continuous carpet under optimal conditions. Originally found west of Havana in Cuba, it brings a piece of nature into your aquarium.
This plant is ideal as a foreground plant and only grows to a height of a few centimetres. Micranthemum callitrichoides 'Cuba' thrives particularly well in smaller, well-lit aquariums. When planted in small bundles a few centimetres apart, it spreads quickly and creates a lively, green surface. Small bubbles or beads often form at the tips of the plants, giving the ground cover a particularly lively appearance.
To ensure the best care, Micranthemum callitrichoides 'Cuba' should be pruned regularly to prevent shading of the lower parts of the plant and thus promote healthy growth. If the required optimal conditions for HCC are lacking, Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo' can be used as an alternative, as it has lower growth requirements.
