The height of the plant and the distance between the leaves depend on the light intensity: The more light, the lower the plant stays and the denser the leaves grow.
As a rule, Lilaeopsis mauritiana reaches a height of 5-10 cm and its runners spread out in the aquarium. For optimum development, it should be planted in a similar way to Lilaeopsis brasiliensis - in small clumps a few centimetres apart to promote rapid coalescence.
