Lilaeopsis mauritiana
Lilaeopsis mauritiana is a versatile aquarium plant that requires less light than Lilaeopsis brasiliensis. This species was discovered in Mauritius in 1992 by Holger Windeløv, the founder of Tropica. The height of the plant and the distance between the leaves depend on the light intensity: The more light, the lower the plant stays and the denser the leaves grow.
As a rule, Lilaeopsis mauritiana reaches a height of 5-10 cm and its runners spread out in the aquarium. For optimum development, it should be planted in a similar way to Lilaeopsis brasiliensis - in small clumps a few centimetres apart to promote rapid coalescence.
With its moderate light requirements and ability to form dense carpets, Lilaeopsis mauritiana is an excellent choice for aquarium enthusiasts looking for a low-maintenance and adaptable ground cover plant. Rely on the quality and expertise of Rendo Shrimp to integrate this fascinating plant into your aquarium.
