Gratiola viscidula
Gratiola viscidula originates from North America and is relatively new to the aquarium hobby. The characteristic underwater shape of the plant with its somewhat "thorny" appearance makes it highly recognizable.
This plant is easy to care for and prefers good light conditions. It can be kept very low, almost carpet-like, by frequent pruning. However, it is also ideal as a dense group in the foreground or middle ground of the aquarium.
Each stalk of Gratiola viscidula is about 1 - 2 cm wide and can grow taller than 10 cm. The stems branch out and spread readily, giving the plant a very compact appearance.
With its unique appearance and low-maintenance nature, Gratiola viscidula is an excellent choice for aquarium enthusiasts who want to add a special accent to their underwater landscape.
