Echinodorus grisebachii 'Bleherae'
Echinodorus grisebachii 'Bleherae', also known as Echinodorus bleheri, is an undemanding and beautiful aquarium plant from South America. This plant thrives best in a nutrient-rich substrate, which helps it to reach a height of 25-40 cm. Regular pruning is necessary to ensure that plants growing underneath receive sufficient light.
Thanks to its adaptability, Echinodorus grisebachii 'Bleherae' can also thrive in low-lit aquariums, as it grows towards the light itself. This makes it an ideal choice for both novices and experienced aquarists with slightly larger aquariums. This plant used to be sold under the trade name "Paniculatus".
The plant is often supplied as a bunch of stems or very young plants tied together with an anchor. Remove the anchor and divide the individual plants. In the case of stem plants, the leaves of the lowest 5 cm and any damaged leaves should be removed. Plant the individual plants in the substrate with adequate spacing. Echinodorus grisebachii 'Bleherae' quickly forms roots and starts to grow.
