Badam - Sterculia foetida
The badam, botanically known as Sterculia foetida, is a unique natural product from India and is a special decoration for your aquarium or terrarium. This decorative pod not only provides aesthetic enrichment, but also functions as a practical shelter.
The slightly porous surface of the badam pods is ideal for planting and helps to enrich the water quality by releasing tannins and humic substances, which has a positive effect on the health of your aquatic inhabitants. In the aquarium, these pods need a few days to sink. This process can be accelerated by placing a small stone inside the pod, which can be removed after 3 to 5 days.
The pods vary in diameter from about 7 to 15 cm and open to different widths, which makes them ideal for nano tanks as well as for larger terrariums as caves or shelters. As the Badam is a purely natural product, its appearance and size may vary.
