Aegagropila linnaei - The fascinating moss ball for your aquarium
Aegagropila linnaei, also known as Cladophora aegagropila, is a remarkable and decorative exception to the rule of avoiding algae at all costs. These fascinating moss balls are found in shallow lakes, where wave action gives them their characteristic round shape. In your aquarium, Aegagropila linnaei must be turned regularly to maintain its spherical shape.
With a size of usually 2-4 cm, Aegagropila linnaei is an easy-care and versatile decorative element. It can be divided into smaller clumps which, over time, either return to their spherical shape or develop a flat, carpet-like growth when fixed to roots and stones. This makes them an ideal element for creative aquarium designs.
It is particularly noteworthy that Aegagropila linnaei is a protected species in various regions of Japan, which underlines its ecological importance. At Rendo Shrimp, we are proud to offer you this unique algae ball, which is not only decorative but also contributes to aquarium diversity.
Experience the beauty and uniqueness of Aegagropila linnaei in your aquarium and benefit from our commitment to quality and the aquarium community.
