Description
Lobelia cardinalis
Plants in a small coconut fiber pot; packed in breathable material. Lobelia cardinalis grows naturally in North America and forms dense groups of stems. In the nursery, this plant is cultivated as a marsh plant. Here it develops dark green leaves with a purple underside. In the aquarium, the leaves turn light green and the stems are usually 10-30 cm high and 5-10 cm wide. Often used in Dutch aquariums for "plant streets". In open aquariums it grows above the water level and forms cardinal red flowers; at the same time the leaves retain their original color. Can also be used for the garden pond.
