Description
Echinodorus bleheri from South America is undemanding and beautiful. A nutrient-rich substrate encourages the plant to grow to a height of 25-40 cm, but it is important to remember to prune the plant so that it does not take too much light away from the plants growing below it. Echinodorus bleheri also thrives in dimly lit aquaria, as it grows towards the light itself. An undemanding and easy solitary plant for both the novice and the experienced aquarist with a slightly larger aquarium, it used to be sold under the trade name "Paniculatus''. stems or very young plants are tied together with an anchor. Remove the anchor and divide the individual plants. In the case of stem plants, the leaves of the lowest 5 cm of each stem must be removed as well as any damaged leaves. The individual plants are planted in the substrate with adequate spacing. The plant quickly forms roots and starts to grow.
