Description
The cultivar Echinodorus x barthii is a decorative specimen plant for large aquaria, growing 25-50 cm high and 20-30 cm wide. Young leaves are dark red, older leaves are dark green and good color development is achieved with high light intensity and sufficient micronutrients in the aquarium. A nutrient-rich substrate and the addition of CO2 promote growth. The plant can cast a lot of shade and must therefore be shortened occasionally and was previously offered under the name "double red".
