Description
The floating plant Ceratophyllum demersum 'Foxtail' was found on an expedition to the Rio Guapore, a border river between Brazil and Bolivia, in a smaller tributary in Bolivia. Ceratophyllum has no actual roots, but can still be planted in the soil layer. The stems can grow to over 80 cm long. 'Foxtail' differs in that the leaves and side shoots are closer together, which gives the plant an attractive and compact appearance. It is also characterized by the fact that it is more robust and remains intact because it does not break as easily as other Ceratophyllum varieties.
