Description
Bacopa australis was found in the southern part of Brazil (australis = southern) and therefore does not originate from Australia, as the name could also be interpreted. Just like the other Bacopa species, Bacopa australis is easy to keep in the aquarium. The plants grow to a height of 10-30 cm. Under certain conditions, Bacopa australis creeps along the bottom, forming an elegant and decorative light green cushion. The leaves also turn reddish when Bacopa australis grows in good light conditions. The plant can be easily propagated via cuttings by removing side shoots and planting them in the soil layer.
