Description
Anubias barteri var. barteri is an undemanding plant from West Africa. It grows larger than Anubias barteri var. nana, but is cultivated under the same conditions. Anubias barteri is very variable in terms of size and leaf shape, the plants can grow to a height of 25-45 cm and the rhizome can quickly reach a length of 10 cm or more. Like other Anubias species, it is best planted in a shady spot to limit the growth of algae on the leaves. Suitable for terrariums and aquaterrariums. Herbivorous fish will not eat the very tough and robust leaves.
